The air purifying process is powerful, effective, yet very simple in this compact unit. As air drawn into the Multi Tech S1000-Ultra, it first encounters a pre-filter where larger pollutants are removed before entering the more sensitive "downstream" filters. Next the air encounters a HEPA filter where up to 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns in size - almost 300 times smaller than the width of a human hair - are removed. Next the air enters an activated carbon filter where odors and chemicals are trapped, followed by a photocatalyst oxidation filter (also called a "TiO2" filter) which breaks down additional pollutants into harmless carbon dioxide and water molecules. The air is then bathed by an ultraviolet germicidal lamp and finally exits the Multi Tech S1000-Ultra accompanied by trillions of ions generated by its negative ion generator. The Ultra's powerful 85 CFM fan enhances the air purification process by maximizing the number of air exchanges in your room, contributing to a healthier you!
Noise Level: Although no fan operated appliance can be silent, the S1000 comes very close to meeting that goal.
Maintenance: Although the HEPA filter is washable, our research team suggests it's replaced ever other year to insure peak performance. All other filters and the germicidal lamp should be replaced on a yearly basis, more often if used under severe conditions.
